Thanks to Sherry Reynolds (@cascadia) and Margalit Gur-Arie (@margalitgurarie) for getting us started as we rename the ‘Quality Improvement in Public Health Practice Exchange,’ alternately known as the ‘Public Health Quality Improvement Practice Exchange’! Either way, the name is quite a mouthful!
Here is what we have come up with so far:
· HealthWorks
· PublicHealthWorks
· Public Health Improvement Exchange (PHIE)
· Public Health Improvement Network (PHIN)
What do you think of the possibilities we have so far? What names would you add to this list? For more information about the project, click here.
Some of the suggested names are being, or have been, used in public health. For instance, the Public Health Foundation is using "Public Health Works" for a new video-based training series demonstrating how evidence and quality improvement can be used to improve community health. I also believe that "PHIN" has been used by CDC for the Public Health Information Network.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Ron! Public Health Works (http://www.phf.org/programs/publichealthworks/Pages/Public_Health_Works.aspx) looks like it will be a valuable training program. And you're right, the PHIN acronym is being used by CDC (that was my idea and my excuse is that my background is in social work...oops!).
ReplyDeleteWe've been continuing to float ideas around and one seems to have stuck: the Public Health Quality Improvement Exchange (PHQIX) with QIX prounounced as 'kicks'...
